HabitFlow

Privacy Policy

Plain-language answers about what HabitFlow does — and doesn't — do with your information.

Last updated: July 7, 2026

Quick summary (the plain-English version)

  • HabitFlow works fully offline. Your habits, streaks, notes and settings are stored only on your own device.
  • We — the developer — do not collect, see, or store any of your personal data on any server.
  • Any backup or export file you create stays on your device unless you personally choose to share or upload it somewhere.
  • The app shows ads through Google AdMob and sells subscriptions through Google Play Billing — both are run by Google and may process limited technical data under Google's own privacy policy (details below).
  • You're always in control of ad personalization through your device's Google settings.
Introduction

About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how HabitFlow ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use our mobile application. HabitFlow is a habit-tracking app designed to work entirely on your device, without requiring an internet connection for its core features.

By downloading, installing, or using HabitFlow, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

This policy applies only to HabitFlow and does not cover any third-party websites, services, or applications that may be linked to or used within the app (such as Google Play).

No data collection

Information we don't collect

HabitFlow is built to function completely offline. We do not operate any backend server for the app's core features, and as a result:

  • We do not require you to create an account or sign in to use the app's core habit-tracking features.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier.
  • We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, or precise location.
  • We do not track your activity across other apps or websites.
  • We do not run our own analytics or crash-reporting services that send data to us.

All the habits, streaks, notes, reminders, and settings you create inside the app are stored in a local database on your device only. We simply have no way of seeing this information.

Note: If a future version of HabitFlow adds optional features such as cloud sync, account sign-in, or crash reporting, this policy will be updated in advance, and — where required by law — your consent will be requested before any such feature is enabled.
Third-party services

Third-party services we use

While we don't collect any data ourselves, HabitFlow uses two services provided by Google to keep the app free and to offer optional paid upgrades. These services operate under Google's own privacy policy, not ours, and may process limited technical data as described below.

1. Google AdMob (Advertising)

We use Google AdMob to show banner and rewarded ads inside the app, which allows us to offer HabitFlow for free. To deliver and measure ads, AdMob may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:

Data typeWhy it's used
Advertising IDAd personalization, frequency capping, and measurement
Device information (model, OS version)Ensuring ads display correctly on your device
Approximate location (from IP address)Regional ad relevance and legal compliance
App interaction data (e.g. ad clicks/views)Ad performance, fraud prevention

This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us. You can review or opt out of personalized advertising at any time from your device settings, or read Google's own documentation for full detail.

2. Google Play Billing (Subscriptions & Purchases)

HabitFlow offers an optional Premium upgrade with monthly, yearly, and lifetime plans. All payments are processed entirely by Google Play Billing — we never see, receive, or store your card details or any other payment information.

  • Google may process your purchase history, transaction ID, and subscription status to complete the purchase and confirm your entitlement to Premium features.
  • Your subscription (renewal, cancellation, refund requests) is managed directly through the Google Play Store, not inside the app.
  • We only receive a simple confirmation that a purchase was successful, so the app can unlock Premium features on your device.
Local storage

Local data, backups & exports

Every habit, streak, note, category, and setting you create lives in a private database stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party as part of normal app use.

If HabitFlow offers a backup or export feature (for example, exporting your habit history as a CSV or PDF file), please note:

  • The exported file is saved to your own device's storage, in a location you choose.
  • If you choose to share, email, print, or upload that file yourself (for example, via your phone's share menu), that action — and any resulting data handling — is entirely up to you and is governed by the privacy policy of whichever app or service you shared it with.
  • We do not automatically upload your backups or exports anywhere.
Note: Some Android devices automatically back up app data to a user's personal Google Account as part of Android's built-in backup system. This is a device-level feature controlled by Google and your phone's settings — not something HabitFlow initiates or has access to.
App permissions

Permissions this app uses

Below is a plain-language explanation of the permissions HabitFlow may request, and why:

PermissionPurpose
NotificationsTo send you habit reminders at the times you choose.
Alarms & reminders (exact alarm)To trigger your reminder notifications at the exact time you set.
Run at device startupTo reschedule your reminders after your phone restarts.
VibrationTo vibrate your device alongside a reminder notification, if enabled.

None of these permissions are used to collect, transmit, or share personal information off your device.

Children

Children's privacy

HabitFlow is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and — as explained throughout this policy — we do not collect personal information from any user at all. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service integrated into this app (such as AdMob), please contact us so we can look into it, and contact Google directly regarding their services.

Your rights

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (Europe), UK GDPR, or CCPA (California) to access, correct, delete, or export personal data held about you.

Because HabitFlow does not collect or store any personal data on our own servers, there is generally no data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. For data processed by Google on behalf of AdMob or Google Play Billing, you can exercise your rights directly through Google:

We do not sell your personal information, and we have no personal information to sell.

Security

Data security

Since your habit data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us, the security of that data largely depends on the security of your own device — for example, using a screen lock and keeping your operating system up to date. Data processed by Google's services (AdMob, Play Billing) is protected under Google's own security practices, described in their privacy policy.

Updates

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add a new feature that changes how data is handled. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this page periodically, and where a change is significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, through an in-app message or app store update notes).
